Sophie Janski is a french-swiss photographer based between Lake Leman and Corsica. This composite identity fuels her tenderness for spaces and the people occupying them. Always discreet, almost veiled, she captures their essence and intents. 

Having embarked on a journey throughout the Mediterranean basin with her camera as a companion, she learned to let places and encounters shape her perception of the world, freeing her images from her academic and institutional background.

 

Often found island hoping, especially in Corsica where she nourishes strong ties with local communities, she thrives in photographing raw reality through a soft lens. 

 

In practice she plunges into subjects with an acute sense of detail and color. She crafts images and narrative spanning travel, still life, wellness, architecture, fine dining, hospitality and sports.
